Guangzhou Zoo

Located in the heart of the city, Guangzhou Zoo is home to hundreds of animal species including giant pandas, elephants, giraffes, tigers and primates. Its central location and affordable admission make it a convenient choice for families or visitors looking for a relaxed half-day activity. The zoo is compact enough to explore on foot and is easily combined with nearby attractions such as Yuexiu Park or the Tianhe shopping district. If your itinerary allows, we generally recommend Chimelong Safari Park instead. Chimelong offers a much larger and more immersive experience, with expansive safari habitats, cable cars and world-class wildlife exhibits, making it one of Guangzhou's standout attractions. For visitors short on time or staying in the city centre, however, Guangzhou Zoo remains an enjoyable and convenient option.
